We go off like a train, in the pouring rain
And soon we\u2019re by Loch Maree
It\u2019s our last day but one and we\u2019d welcome some sun
But we\u2019ll settle for what will be<\/p>

The road\u2019s a flat track, we\u2019ve a breeze at our back
As we barrel along by the loch
The water is clean, crisp, clear and serene
And we get well ahead of the clock<\/p>

At the end of the loch, I\u2019m expecting a shock
As we start to climb out of the bowl
But I\u2019m full of good cheer, when it\u2019s not what I fear
And soon we\u2019re back on a roll<\/p>

Down the glen we go, where peat water\u2019s flow
As the rain seeps through my top
Common sense holds sway, at Gairloch Bay
We dry out at a coffee stop<\/p><\/div>

By the shores of Loch Tollaidh, it makes Den\u2019s day
He smiles when he thinks of it still
Cause they\u2019re waving at us, from a double-decker bus
A Seaside Special on the brow of the hill.<\/p>

I much prefer the highlands to cycling on the islands
Where some drivers are looking for a fight
But it\u2019s a wonder, if true, that they called this Loch Ewe
When there\u2019s barely a sheep within sight.<\/p>

I remember at Gruinard, \u201cfather works for Cunard\u201d
Schoolboy humour from the back of my brain
Then foreboding grows, at the distant Munroes
Though there\u2019s no need to go there again.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
