The Road to Lowestoft

It’s Star Wars Day, the 4th of May
And we start with an opening crawl
To the shore we chase across time and space
With the force behind us and all

We’re ahead of the throng at Aldeburgh prom
Where the forces gather to celebrate
We ride pell mell to Maggi Hambling’s shell
Rough seas cause the Venus to hesitate

By Leiston there, an old place of prayer
Which Abbey Road goes right past
Because I Carry That Weight, Something’s not great
Till Here Comes the Sun at last

At Walberswick in a move that’s slick
We nab an early table
In the warm and dry two squalls pass by
And we leave when we are able

It goes desperately cold as we cross to Southwold
A bleak pier at the end of the drag
In Lowestoft Pavilion there’s a Star Wars convention
Where we bump into another old lag.
