Cork to Limerick - Cogitation

Cork to Limerick

11 – 18 June 2018

This was the inaugural “Wet & Windy” Tour in Ireland. We knew it was the best part of Ireland, so we thought it might be a one-off. However, while we had our fair share of wind and rain, we also had some sunshine, some great craic and terrific scenery. All of which inspired us to keep going. The first cycling rhymes were written and presented as a single epic on the last day, amidst some barracking, in a Limerick curry house.

Wet & Windy Map1

The Road to Kinsale

Four oul men from across the sea
Came to Cork and Kerry with me
Wet & Windy expected
It was Tim who directed
Down every detour and lane that he’d see.

The first night we stopped in Kinsale
Fish & Chips by the quay, then some ale
Digs up a great hill
Made Mark look quite ill
Knock knees, weary legs, a bit pale

The B&B was comfy and clean
An early night was already foreseen
There was plenty of food
The coffee was good
But Den scarfed all the crisps which was mean
